What a lovely day
I spent the day out at Duboce Park with Luci and Chicka. It was supposed to rain today but it was really nice and sunny instead. Take that, drought! I had borrowed some Mad Men DVDs from Luci and had to return them, so I suggested we meet up for coffee. She suggested Bean There. And this morning … I went to Bean Bag instead. Ooops. Eventually, I made it to the right place. Heh heh. I’m stooopid.
While there, I was recognized by an old girlfriend who now lives in Las Vegas. She’s visiting with her family and I met her husband and daughter. She had a son when I was dating her and he must be a teen-ager by now, but I forgot to ask about him. She’s designing things in Vegas these days. She used to work at Piedmont on Haight Street. Back in the day, I hung out with the Piedmont girls a lot.
And, when I met you know who, I broke up with her. Heh. That really worked out, huh?
Anyway, it was nice to see her. Luci and I then went to the park and Chicka had a great time playing with all the other dogs. I think a park full of dogs might be the happiest place on earth.
(When I mentioned this to Luci, she responded, “No, it isn’t. Disneyland is the happiest place on earth!” I disagree.)
In other news, after a couple of months of searching, it looks like we’ve got a third band for the practice space. This is really good because I’ve been paying $100 a month studio rent the past couple of months. With the third band in, everybody’s rent will go down - mine to a very manageable $41 a month. Whew.
